Facial Hair

From our in-country correspondent . . .

Avoid making comments about a person’s facial hair. It’s considered inappropriate.

Personal Sanitation

From our in-country correspondent . . .

Bring soap or wet hand washing wipes in your bag. Most places including 99% of local restaurants do not have soap in their bathrooms. One local man explained it best to me. He said that soap was not something that you find in the average household. It’s usually found in hotels and fancy restaurants. I would agree with him based on what I’ve experienced so far.

Dear Blog Readers

Guess where I am. My knees are braced and open. Not very lady-like. Two inches from my face is a monitor, releasing the need for any type of magnification; though I am a bit cross-eyed. There are strangers all around me. Where am I.

You guessed it! I’m on Virgin Atlantic Flight 24 going to London.

I must say, ticketing was a challenge. Thank you all for your prayers. It could have been a really bad situation. But His angels were all around us. The power of your prayers is working. Keep it up. I’m feeling we have just begun to battle.

Just like the Old Testament being the original blog, goes into great detail … I’m going to attempt to tell the story of what happened.

In the beginning was a Mission Trip to Rwanda when the moon was in the house of November. The Lord God Almighty called a handful of people out by name and speaking to them in a dream told each one to follow him to Africa. And so being obedient P.E.A.C.E. followers of God they battled the evils of doubt, faithlessness, finance burdens, job insecurities, and the breaking of boards to fulfill God’s calling. Some did no make it, but the Lord said, “I will be with you, I will never forsake you.” So from 88 to 42, a small remnant remained.

When the moon was in the 3rd house, and November aligned with the event. Then P.E.A.C.E. did guide the people, and love did move they on. This is the dawning of the Day of Departure, the day of departure. Departure to Rwanda. Rwanda.

So Roy and Betty went to the Travel Agency, and said, “Let our people go!” And let them go in teams, being placed in seats of red, with leg room and good customer service. And the Travel Agency said only if you creates lots of forms, and provide all of the information will we let your people go. And Roy and Betty did all that was requested of them, and returned and said, “Let our people go!” And the Travel Agency said, only if you create yet another form and time is of the essence. And again Roy and Betty complied with all that the Travel Agency prevailed upon them. And the Travel Agency said go, go in peace. All that you have requested will be done upon to.

Well, to make a long story short [two hours worth of story will be reduced into the next few paragraphs] we faced the following challenges at the Virgin Atlantic counter:

We were promised … and I have it in writing from Virgin Atlantic that we would have a Group Travel Advisor. There was none for the 42 of us checking in 84 bags … 126 with carry-ons. There was NO Group Travel Advisor.

Only 21 of us had tickets to Kigali. The other 21’s ticket ended in London. Under great direst, and being very pragmatic.

The counter personal all but refused, initially to book our baggage through to Kigali. Many verbal discussions occur counter-side to force them to abandoned that idea. Without our luggage being booked through Kigali we would have had to pick up our bags from baggage claim in Heathow, re-go through customs and re check in.

The Travel Agency booked us in groups of 4 in. Which meant that when 21 of us

To blog or not … this is truely the question.

Welcome …

Hello my friends, supporters, prayer partners, family, work partners, mentors, pastors, and most of all, my sweetie pie. I am the “trip leader” for a group of people [42 to be exact] on their way to the country of Rwanda, to teach 5 churches about a plan that will change the very heart of this country — through these churches.

Background

This plan is entitled the P.E.A.C.E. Plan. About two years ago, I signed a “Life Mission Commitment” that I take quite seriously. I committed FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE to build God’s Kingdom: by being an Ambassador of “the” Good News; by sharing my personal testimony to build relationships; and just by living on mission and in mission through this P.E.A.C.E. plan. What is the mission? It is to Plant churches; Equip leaders; Assist the poor; Care for the sick; Educate the next generation.

Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to traverse the thousands of miles between us, enabling you to experience the wonderful new adventures I’m just about to begin.

So TODAY … that’s what a blog is … a daily journal correct? Well TODAY, my Prayer for Rwanda is for HOPE.

God of hope, grant that Rwanda may overflow with hope.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him,
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 62:5–6
